Eagle Crest is a resort community on the west side of the Deschutes River, a short drive past Redmond. Calvin works it on the same days as his Redmond jobs.
Deschutes County lists Eagle Crest as a destination resort whose setbacks and allowed uses follow its own land use approval. Before Calvin tears out an old deck or a shed, check what the resort allows.
Plenty of Eagle Crest homes are second homes or rentals. Owners text the photo from out of town, leave access with a neighbor or a manager, and hear the price from Calvin once he is there. Faded patio sets, old hot tubs, mattresses from a rental refresh and furniture left after a sale make up most loads.
Calvin sorts as he loads. Usable pieces are donated, metal is recycled, and Redmond has the Negus transfer station and recycling center. Paint, stain and chemicals stay off the truck and go to the county's hazardous waste facility. Just down the river, Cline Falls State Scenic Viewpoint gives fishing access to the Deschutes.
