Scrap metal piles up behind the shed and in the corner of the garage. Old bed frames, a rusted grill, fencing, pipe and parts from projects that never got finished. Calvin loads it and takes it to metal recyclers.

Farms and rural lots around Bend often have years of it.

The full list of what goes on the truck, and what doesn't.

Recycled, not landfilled

Metal goes to metal recyclers. That covers most of an old appliance, a swing set frame or a pile of fence posts.

A fridge or freezer with freon adds $40.

Heavy and awkward pieces

Calvin loads the heavy pieces on his 18-yard dump truck. Long pipe, fencing and frames get cut down if they need to.

For old appliances, see appliance removal.

Rural properties

Old equipment, rolls of fencing and piles of scrap behind the barn are normal rural jobs. Send a photo of the pile and Calvin will give you an estimate.

What counts as scrap

If it is mostly metal, it can go. Steel shelving, filing cabinets, tin roofing panels, rebar offcuts, rusted wheelbarrows and buckets of old bolts all qualify.

Mixed piles are fine too. Wood, plastic and other junk tangled up with the metal ride on the same 18-yard dump truck, and Calvin pulls the metal out for the recyclers.

Getting the pile ready

Take propane tanks, batteries and fuel cans out of the pile first. Those stay off the truck. Drain any gas or oil from old equipment if you can.

Everything else can stay right where it has been sitting. Calvin loads it from the ground, the shed or the back of the barn.

How the price works

“Did an incredible job hauling away all the unsold items from a huge estate sale. They even took apart a huge heavy hoist that I thought could never be moved but they did it. Super efficient and hard working. I would definitely recommend and use again.”
