An old hot tub is heavy and awkward, but most of them come out whole. Calvin tips the tub onto his hot tub dolly, rolls it out to the truck and hauls it away.

When a tub cannot come out in one piece, like one on a high deck or boxed in behind fences, he takes it apart where it sits. Either way, drain the tub and shut off the power before he arrives.

What goes on the truck

  • Above-ground hot tubs
  • Portable and inflatable spas
  • Built-in tubs
  • Hot tub covers and cover lifts
  • Steps and surrounds
  • Pumps and heaters

The full list of what goes on the truck, and what doesn't.

Before Calvin gets there

If the tub is hardwired, have an electrician disconnect the wiring.

Clear a path from the tub to where the truck can park. Patio furniture, planters and grills in the way slow the job down.

Tubs on decks and in tight yards

Hot tubs on raised decks or behind narrow side gates are normal jobs. If the deck under the tub is coming out too, deck removal can happen on the same visit.

The metal frame and parts go to metal recycling. See also light demolition.

What the day looks like

Calvin arrives in a two-hour window. He removes the cover and steps, then gets the tub out to the truck, whole when it fits and in pieces when it does not.

When he is done, the pad or deck is clear. If the cover lift, steps or a surround are staying, say so before he starts. Payment is cash, check, card or Venmo.

How the price works

“Did an incredible job hauling away all the unsold items from a huge estate sale. They even took apart a huge heavy hoist that I thought could never be moved but they did it. Super efficient and hard working. I would definitely recommend and use again.”

Questions

Questions about hot tub removal.

Can you remove a hot tub from a deck?
Yes. Most come off whole on the dolly. If one cannot, Calvin takes it apart in place.
Will you take the deck too?
Yes. Ask for both when you text the photo.
Do you take the hot tub cover?
Yes. The cover goes with the tub.
Can a hot tub go through a side gate?
Often, yes, tipped on its side on the dolly. If the gate is too narrow, Calvin cuts the tub down so it fits.
What if the tub is boxed in by fences or rock?
It can still come out. One customer's tub sat between built-in fences and lava rock, and Calvin cut it up where it was and hauled it away.
