Some junk is attached to the ground. An old shed, a rotted deck, a falling fence or a playset. Calvin takes it down and hauls it away in one job, start to finish, with no second crew.

Inside, he tears out cabinets, flooring, carpet and non-load-bearing walls ahead of a remodel.

The full list of what goes on the truck, and what doesn't.

What light demolition covers

Light demolition is anything that can be taken apart with hand tools and loaded on a truck. Structural walls and foundations are outside it.

Large amounts of concrete stay behind. Shed slabs and footings are usually left in place.

Sorted after it comes down

Debris is sorted for recycling. Metal goes to metal recyclers and the rest goes to the landfill.

Specific jobs have their own pages. See shed removal, deck removal and hot tub removal. Bigger teardowns like manufactured homes are under demolition and haul away.

Inside the house

Light demolition is not only outdoor work. When the tear-out is done, the contractor starts with an empty room.

The old cabinets, carpet and flooring go on the 18-yard dump truck as they come out, so nothing piles up in the driveway.

Before you call

Make sure utilities to the structure are off.

Move anything you want to keep.

How the price works

Text a photo of what needs to go to (541) 706-1756. Calvin looks at how much room it takes on the truck and texts back one number for the whole job. No hourly rate. Jobs start at $100. The only add-ons: stairs +$25, appliance with freon +$40, tires +$10. He tells you before he starts. More on how pricing works.

“Did an incredible job hauling away all the unsold items from a huge estate sale. They even took apart a huge heavy hoist that I thought could never be moved but they did it. Super efficient and hard working. I would definitely recommend and use again.”

Questions

Questions about light demolition.

Do you remove load-bearing walls?
No. Only non-load-bearing interior walls. Structural walls stay.
Do you remove concrete slabs?
No. Large amounts of concrete stay off the truck.
Can you take down a fence?
Yes. Old fences are taken down and hauled away.
How much does light demolition cost?
It depends on what comes down and how much it fills the truck. Calvin gives a free estimate first. When Calvin gets there, he'll give you a price and you can decide.
Can you take down an old carport or awning?
Yes, if it comes apart with hand tools. The frame is taken down, cut to length and loaded, and the metal is recycled.
Do I need a permit?
Sometimes. The property owner checks with the city or county and arranges it before the work starts.
What equipment does Calvin bring?
It depends on the job. Text a photo and Calvin will say how he plans to take it down. The debris goes straight on his 18-yard dump truck.
When can a tear-out be scheduled?
Calvin works weekdays from 8 in the morning to 6 at night and arrives inside a two-hour window. He is insured.
